Another month has passed away and the CSCCM has started this month with a negative note. After the loss of our member, Peter Drury on the 26th March 2012, another member, Norbert Schembri has also passed away on the 17th April 2012. R.I.P.
On the other hand, two great events were held in April. A static show was organized at Hal Tmiem in Zejtun on 22nd April and another one was held at the Scouts Head Quarters in Floriana on 29th April. The members’ attendance was great in both activities.
On Sunday 22nd April, all members met at 8.30am near Millenia in Marsa. The event started with a one minute silence in respect of Norbert Schembri and Peter Drury. Then all members proceeded to Hal Tmiem in Zejtun for the activity that was organized by Vesuvius Snack Bar and Zejtun Local Council. A total number of 32 cars were displayed. While the public were enjoying the cars, members were invited by the management of Vesuvius Snack Bar for a snack and a drink. At about 12pm, presentations were done. Zejtun mayor Joe Attard and vice mayor Joan Agius, presented a participation certificate to all members for their participation. The club also gave some commemorative tokens to Vesuvius Snack Bar Management and Zejtun Local Council to thank them for their invitation. Salvu Vella on behalf of the management of Vesuvius Snack Bar gave an appreciation trophy to the club. Photos are found in the Gallery Section.
On Sunday 29th April, all members met at 9.15am near Black Pearl in Ta’Xbiex and proceeded to Floriana Scouts Head Quarters. Twenty nine cars participated in this event and the display yard was full. The event was organized by the AME club of scale models. While the public were enjoying the cars, the members had refreshments given by the organizers. At about 12.15pm, the event came to an end. MAY EVENTS. Four events are going to be held in May 2012. On Sunday 6th May, a static show is organized by St Theresa College, Mriehel. Show starts at 10am till 12.30pm. On Saturday 12th May, a static show is organized by the Zabbar local council for the activity ‘Lejla fil-Belt Hompesch’. Show starts at 7.00pm onwards. On Sunday 20th May another static show is going to be held in Hal Qormi for the activity ‘Qormi Car & Motorshow – organized by KZBPromotions. This event starts at 9.00am onwards. And the last activity is to be held on Sunday 27th May in Qawra organized by Bella Vista Hotel. Show starts at around 9.15am.
